A warm beanie/hat is must for the kids in the back-to-school fall season; and what could be better than one that is handmade and supports a smaller business over mass-market machinery.

The annual VF Hollywood spread pays homage to Depression era films. From "It Happened One Night" (with James Marsden & Rose Bryne) to "42 Street" (with Krysten Ritter, Emma Stone and Rashida Jones to name a few starlets), photographers Art Streiber, Mark Seliger, Michael Roberts and Norman Jean Roy take on the 30's set classics. On the VF site (link above) you can view the 7 recreations and the originals.
Definitely worth a look is Art Streiber's "The Grapes of Wrath" photo with Emile Hirsch & Dan Fogler as Tom and Ma Joad; also in the shot is Demetri Martin, Eugene Levy, Kelli Garner and Mamie Gummer (Meryl Streep's daughter.)

Matte polishes are obviously the way to go for polishes during the year of '09. While on the blog, All Lacquered Up, I came across the post for Zoya's new collection launching July 1st of matte polishes. I am thinking that I will have to buy Loredana; sounds gorgeous. I cannot wait to see photos posted on the ALU blog. Follow the link for shade names and descriptions.
